Established in 1973, the Wan Chi Ming Hung Gar Institute is a renowned and well known martial arts school based in Chinatown, New York. They are the last and oldest martial arts school remaining in the Chinatown district. With roots leading back to the legendary Wong Fei Hung and techniques further developed by the Wan family, their Hung Gar style is like no other in the world. They are also a for-hire Dragon & Lion Dance Team. They have been known to set lion dance standards in the New York Area. They offer styles and displays only unique to us in the New York area.

Founded in 1988, WHITE WAVE Young Soon Kim Dance Company has dedicated 30 years broadening the boundaries of modern dance. The company is committed to creating a union between the natural rhythms of the planet and the primal essence of the human spirit. Incorporating music, poetry, and several forms of visual arts, the company’s vision is expansive, constantly challenging the threshold of each medium to build unique perspectives. Artistic Director Young Soon Kim creates works with a reverence and awe for new directions that expand the language of movement, while reaching into the deepest recesses of the imagination, passion, and the spirit to create new expressions of dance.

Parul Shah Dance Company

Parul Shah’s work builds on the dance form’s mythological storytelling roots to explore universal narratives, using a rich movement vocabulary that communicates the dynamic and often paradoxical nature of modern life. While preserving the emotive quality unique to Indian classical dance, Shah tells her own stories that foster understanding, empathy, and relationships between audience and performer.
