Q: Where is The Jamaica Dance Festival held?

A: The Jamaica Dance Festival is held in downtown Jamaica, Queens in Rufus King Park.

Directions by subway:
E or J Train to Jamaica Center – If you come out of the back of the train, walk one block north to reach Rufus King Park. If you come out of the front of the train, walk one block north and one block west.
F Train to Parsons Boulevard – Walk four block south and one block west to reach Rufus King Park.

Directions by bus:
Take any bus to Jamaica Center (Jamaica Avenue and Parsons Boulevard). Walk one block west to Rufus King Park

Directions by car:
Metered parking is available around the parking until 7:00 pm. Free street parking is available after 7:00 pm. The closest municipal parking lot is two blocks away at Parsons Boulevard and 90th Avenue.

Q: What organization is behind The Jamaica Dance Festival?

A: A Better Jamaica, Inc. is the non-profit organization behind The Jamaica Dance Festival. A Better Jamaica is a federally tax-exempt New York State non-profit corporation whose mission it is: To engage in activities designed to strengthen the set of southeast Queens, New York neighborhoods known collectively as Jamaica. Q: Can I photograph or videotape performances?

A: As long as you don’t use a flash, go for it! Be sure to share your images with the hashtag #JamaicaDanceFestival

Q: What happens if it rains?

A: If it does rain, The Jamaica Dance Festival will announce whether the performance will be canceled or not by 6:00 pm. Announcements will be made on The Jamaica Dance Festival’s Facebook and Twitter feeds — so be sure to follow us if you plan on attending! Unfortunately, there are no rain-dates.
